ANOS MELBOURNE SUBURBS

The Australasian Native Orchid Society (Melbourne Suburbs Group) Inc., is an organisation of orchid enthusiasts principally interested in the cultivation and culture of native orchids from the Australasian region.

We are a new ANOS group, formed in July 2005.  Our group has the same focus as other ANOS groups and has judging according to the ANOS judging handbook.  We provide informal judging of plants at our monthly meetings, based on ANOS judging standards.

Dendrobium delacatum X kingianum

Our Objectives

  • To promote improved growing breeding and showing of Australasian orchids;
  • To provide a forum to disseminate information to members and the general public regarding culture, breeding and judging of Australasian species and hybrid orchids;
  • To provide judging at meetings and shows;
  • To provide a forum in Victoria for training judges of Australian orchids;
  • To promote and support specialist interest in various areas of Australasian orchid growing and breeding.

What We Do

ANOS Melbourne Suburbs holds formal meetings once a month, where members can display their Australasian orchids, listen to learned speakers on various orchid related topics and discuss aspects of orchid culture.
